Specializing in five different areas, the Bachelor of Science program of the Fischler School of Education and Human Services offers a multifaceted curriculum facilitated by accredited and dedicated professors. The five specialized areas of the program are the following: Elementary Education, Exceptional Student Education, Secondary Biology Education, Secondary Mathematics Education, and Education with a concentration in Child Development.

The BS in Education with concentration in Child Development program trains and hones students to gain knowledge and experience in working with young children and their families. Completing the program allows students to have a state certification that allows them to teach students from kindergarten to grade twelve.

Secondary Biology Education

Starting in 2007, the Secondary Biology Education program of the Fischler School of Education and Human Services involves science courses customized to the teaching of biology in secondary education. All of the courses are based on the Florida Sunshine State Science Standards. Completion of this program leads to biology certification that allows graduates to teach the subject in middle school and high school.

Secondary Mathematics Education

The Secondary School Mathematics Education degree program of the Fischler School of Education and Human Services offers courses specially tailored for teaching secondary Mathematics based on the Florida Sunshine State Mathematics Standards and the present statewide assessment in mathematics at grades 8-10. Certification in Mathematics allows teachers to teach at the high school and middle school level.
