California Southern University, previously named Southern California University for Professional Studies until June 2007, was established in 1978. The university is an unaccredited, private institution, which originally only offered associate degrees. Later on, the school expanded its programs to Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees. When technology began to advance rather rapidly, there became a growing demand for distance learning, which is when California Southern University incorporated online programs to its degree plans.

Located in Santa Ana, California, the university provides students with the opportunity to take advantage of the many online services, which enable them to obtain their degree in a convenient manner. The university is divided into a number of schools, each focusing on a particular area of study. Every school offers different degree programs.

The School of Business is designed to provide students with the sufficient knowledge and skills needed in order to successfully run a business or manage a non-profit organization. Some of the finer focuses include management, accounting, marketing, finance, and international business. The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree program is geared toward those individuals who are seeking to expand their business knowledge in order to transform from learners to leaders. Not only does one develop more advanced decision-making techniques and organizational skills, but exceptional writing skills and research abilities as well.

The School of Behavioral Studies prepares its students in such a way that they are able to contribute significantly to the advancement of psychological knowledge and truly make a difference. With a dedicated staff assisting the students every step of the way with their career choices, students are able to choose the field of study that is most suitable for them. The Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree program is designed for students who wish to advance their knowledge of clinical issues in psychology, and who seek to apply it correctly within their respective professions.

The School of Law enables one to keep up with their family and professional lives while pursuing a successful career in law. The objective the school is to provide students with the knowledge and understanding of the effects of law in today’s society. Integrity and ethics are both stressed greatly throughout the years of study, thus producing sincere and moral law figures. The Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree program provides the education and legal training needed in order to become a lawyer.
