Concord Law School of Kaplan University became part of the virtual world in 1998 and never looked back. Concord has always been part of Kaplan University, but it wasn’t until 2007 when the formal merger occurred. This important step illustrates how far Concord Law School has come by merging with a regionally accredited institution of higher education. The flexible hours that Concord offers, has allowed students all over the nation to obtain their Juris Doctor (JD) and Executive Juris Doctor (EJD) degrees online, with greater ease. The Juris Doctor Program (JD) is intended for those individuals interested in practicing law as well as broadening their career opportunities. This is a four-year, part-time program, which supplies one with the traditional Juris Doctor education. Some of the many skills developed throughout this program are analyzing a client’s legal problems, representing a client fully, understanding and upholding their legal responsibilities, developing an effective legal strategy, and others.

The Executive Juris Doctor Program (EJD) is geared toward those seeking to study law, but not to practice it. This program provides one with a sophisticated knowledge that will sharpen their mind and thus provide a wide range of career opportunities. This particular program can be completed in three years. Though the first year of study largely mirrors that of the Juris Doctor (JD) Program, the following years are quiet different. Students are asked to choose a curriculum plan based on their personal and career interests. They can choose from the HealthLaw Track, the Law and Technology Track, and the Criminal Justice Track.
