The Doctor of Education in Counseling Psychology (EdD) degree is the third of the three doctorates in psychology, which also include the PhD in Psychology, and the Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree. This degree is recognized as equivalent, by the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. National Science Foundation, to the PhD in Psychology, although the PhD is often preferred.
