There are both EdS and EdD degrees available in the field of Educational Leadership. The EdS degree is the Educational Specialist degree, which although a terminal academic degree, is not a doctoral degree. The Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Educational Leadership on the other hand is equivalent to the PhD in Education, also a doctoral degree.
